The post I had originally planned for today is taking more thinking-through than I had planned. Meanwhile, this wonderful meditation came to me today from a friend, to share.
The next time you think that “somebody else can take care of that” when a calling comes for someone with your particular blessings and talents… for the next time you feel as if you want to just be a pew warmer because there is SO little that one small person can do, consider these words, attributed to St. Therese of Avila (1515-1582)
“Christ has no body now but yours
No hands, no feet on earth but yours
Yours are the eyes through which He looks
with compassion on this worldYours are the feet with which he walks to do good
Yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”
