I’ve not added on to the ever-growing “Prayers of Our People” in a while, and today I have two additions which aren’t as strongly LGBTQ as some of the other stanzas.
If there is any group of people on the planet these days who really need our continuing prayers, it’s the Christians. Clarity, discernment, and some true-honest faith would help a lot, and if they could all just keep in mind what Bishop Mike (Michael Curry, Episcopal Bishop of NC) says:
“We follow Jesus; we do not follow the crowd.”
So here’s today’s two additions:
For all Christians, that we may be open to your Word in our lives, Oh Lord, we pray.
For families, going through difficult times, for parents and their children, Oh Lord, we pray.
